Wood Blinds

The width of faux wood blinds are optimal when they are at least 2 inches wide. The appearance of capacious slats and louvers gives a better field of vision when someone wants to tilt them and look outside. The interval spacing between isn’t just exceptional for viewing because the voluminous span also allows more sunlight to enter through the window. The radiance that enters the home can be hindered to some extent if they were smaller slats. This does not render thinner slats useless, it’s a matter of design, and the type effect you are looking for. Spacious rooms or areas of the home that receive abundant sunshine would fare better if the blinds facilitated the entry of light. 2 inch faux wood blinds also have a lesser number of slats. A typical standard window that has a size of 32 inches wide and 56 inches high would have double the number of slats if the size was 1 inch.

2" Faux Wood Blinds

The photo above details the obvious difference between 2 inch faux wood blinds and 1 inch faux wood blinds. The variance is immediately recognized and not just the blinds size but also the size of the headrail. Rather than considering one size superior to the other, the focus should be on which size is befitting a specific window, door or room. 2 faux wood blinds on glass doors may appear odd and conflict with the contour and design of doors. 1 wood blinds on the other hand would can be applied and would be in felicitously suitable. Other elements to consider beyond the size of the blinds would be the color of the faux wood. An all white aluminum door would match white wood blinds but can we claim the same for brownish blinds.

The similarities between 2” faux wood blinds and 1 inch faux wood blinds are apparent, both sizes are inviting and attractive. The size you buy should agree with the intended purpose as well as the intended window or door. 2” wood blinds will welcome the sunlight more than the smaller size. Doors will look nicer with 1” faux wood blinds because the smaller size is more amiable with doors and their sidelights.
The choice might be easier when looking at some samples of 2” wood blinds side by side on either windows or doors.

You might even see a plantation blind that is vertical the name might include plantation but style wise it is certainly not. It goes against the natural style of plantation styled window treatment. To illustrate my point lets take plantation shutters that are installed on the outside of the house. How do you think it will look if there are vertical blinds on the inside of the house? Awkward to say the least so if you are aiming at this kind of design then make sure that your blinds and shutters are both horizontal. A beautiful style will be to have all white plantation shutters with a lovely stained wood plantation blinds on the inside. Cost is always an issue no matter what and it is understandable because we all have a limited budget. You do have options however if you want to decorate you home with this lovely style. Your alternative option in this circumstance would be faux wood plantation blinds. They are beautiful, look like the real thing and they will fit your budget more than real wood blinds would. This is something you should contemplate and you have to always look at the positives of things. They are attractive and are also designed to last a very long time and maybe even longer that natural wood.

Plantation blinds whether they are from genuine wood or faux maple wood are a sight to behold. We have images of of grand houses but you know what they will lovely in modern city apartments too. It is simply a matter of how you will decorate your home. Window blinds do in fact require a little bit more effort from an interior design point of view. And when it comes to wood even more effort is required. You have to think about things like wood flooring and will it go nice with your plantation blinds. These things can be addressed in a proper way if you plan out how you will decorate or design your home first. You don’t want to be in a predicament where your furnishings do not match your window blinds. If done right and if you manage to strike that perfect balance then your plantation blinds will speak for themselves when your friends and family compliment you on them.
